If a team in our accumulator wins, we lose our £8 liability. If a team in our accumulator loses, we win the £25 lay stake (less 50p commission on Smarkets or £1.25 on Betfair). Therefore, these are our total payouts based on how many teams win. All teams win = You lose 5 x £8 liabilities (-£40) 1 team lose = You lose 4 x £8 liabilities but win 1 x £25 lay stake (-£7.50). The idea is that at some point you can take some profits out of your ‘rolling accumulator’ so that if one team loses, the whole bet doesn’t go down. So a typical example of a rolling accumulator would be to start off by placing a tenner on a Friday night match.
